TTMG to Merge with the Tahoe Forest Hospital 3/1/2020

Dear Valued Patient(s) of Truckee Tahoe Medical Group,

We have some news to share with you:

We are pleased to announce that we are partnering with Tahoe Forest Hospital District (TFHD) to ensure that we can continue to provide high-quality primary care to you and your family.  After 60 years of practice in this community, Truckee Tahoe Medical Group (TTMG) will be merging and becoming part of Tahoe Forest Hospital clinics on March 1, 2020.  TFHD has been a steward of excellent care in our community.  This merger strengthens and expands Primary and Urgent Care services for our district.

Our goal is a seamless transition for you as patients.  Whether you are long-time patients or a visitor needing care, we are here when you need us, where you need us.

Our offices, services, staff and providers will remain the same.  You can find us at the same locations, same hours, with the same phone number.  We will continue contracts with all current insurances.

TTMG and TFHD share the goal to provide high-quality primary care right here in our community - the care you deserve from the people you trust.  We welcome any questions you might have.

We hope that you will continue to partner with us in your family's health care needs.  We look forward to serving you.

Sincerely,
Physicians of Truckee Tahoe Medical Group

Frequently Asked Questions:

Will you remain in the same offices?
Yes, we will continue to have year-round offices in Truckee and Tahoe City, and a winter office at Squaw Valley (Nov-April).

Will your hours change?
We will have the same hours 9am-6pm in Truckee and Tahoe City, 9am-5pm in Squaw Valley.

How will I make an appointment?
You can call our office directly and you will be routed to a TFHD centralized scheduling team that will assist you with an appointment and any preparation for your visit.  If you need same-day care, they will direct you to the office best for you.

How will I reach the office?
You can use the same phone number:  530-581-8864

Will same Urgent Care/walk-ins be available?
Yes, you will have the same services in terms of Urgent Care, same day, and walk-in care.  We strive to make even better Urgent Care services for less wait and more convenience should you need it.

Will you continue to treat workman's compensation or on the job injuries
Yes, we will continue the exact same services for workman's comp/industrial injuries or accidents.

Will you continue to care for children?
Yes, we will continue full-spectrum Family Medicine, which includes pediatrics, internal medicine, gynecology, sports medicine, wellness visits, mental health, primary care, preventative care, occupational medicine, geriatrics, injury care, urgent care, and procedures such as minor surgeries.  Call us if you have any questions about what we can help you with.

Will insurance acceptance/coverage change?
Insurance contracts are complex and often dictated by the insurance company itself.  TFHD makes every attempt to contract with all major health insurances to best serve our community.  In the future, we will be able to accept MediCal and Covered California insurance but this won't take place until after March, 2020.

I'm looking to change my insurance policy in 2020 - who do I reach out to if I have questions?
TFHD Access Center can help with insurance related questions:  (530) 582-6510

What about my records and MyChart?  Will I have to sign-up again for MyChart?
We hope that your account with MyChart will continue just as is.  We have been on a community Electronic Health Record for 7 years and the transition should be very smooth for patients.

How will billing change - will the cost go up?
We do not yet know how this might change.  Insurance contracts are largely responsible for patient responsibility of cost.   Cost-effective, high quality, patient-centered care is our shared goal.
